Things That Make Me Pick Up a Book
Once again I don’t have 10, but here is my list.
.1.
Pretty covers; I know. “don’t judge a book…” blahblah, but a good cover sucks me in. I admit, some beautiful covers did not have an impressive story, but they are pretty to look at.
*I haven’t read all of these, but they are on my TBR
.2.
Authors I love; There are a few authors who I will read everything they put out.
- Sarah Lyons Fleming
- Sarah J. Maas
- Marissa Meyer (even though Arch Enemies was somewhat disappointing)
.3.
Good reviews (anything over a 4); to be honest, I will hesitate to pick up anything that has an average rating of 3.9 or below on Goodreads unless I know the author and have read previous works. If it’s a book I really want to read I will read the bad reviews and see what exactly people didn’t like about it and make my decision from there. Life’s too short and my TBR is too long to waste time on mediocre books. #sorrynotsorry

A strong female MC; I’m a sucker for them.
.5.
A good love story; but no love triangles. I despise them. My favorites are slow burn friends to enemies.
